HOW GORILLA ISLAND BEGON
Every good story starts with someone telling a hard truth.
Mine came from my girlfriend: “Your wardrobe is getting out of control.”
And honestly? She was right.
Around that same time, I stumbled upon a Stone Island piece online: the kind of find that stops you mid-scroll and rewires your brain a little. That moment flipped a switch. Suddenly, this wasn’t just collecting anymore. And that’s where Gorilla Island quietly started to take shape.
A LIFETIME WITH STONE ISLAND
Stone Island wasn’t something I discovered: it was something I grew up with.
Brothers, friends, the neighbourhood… Everyone wore it. Even my mother wears it now.
For years I bought retail, loyal and unquestioning, until prices went up and second-hand listings became a gamble. Somewhere between disappointment and determination, I realised: there has to be a better way to find the good stuff.
So I started hunting, that's what I love the most.
WHY THE NAME GORILLA ISLAND
The gorilla is calm and strong in its purest form.
Those qualities mirror what Stone Island stands for: technical build, discipline, durability. And it’s also my spirit animal.
So the gorilla became our symbol: a reminder of what matters.
And the island? A place you go when you’re searching for something rare.
Together, they became Gorilla Island.
C.P. COMPANY A NATURAL ADDITION
Somewhere on this journey, C.P. Company entered the frame. Their fabrics, their function, their attention to detail it all fit so naturally with what Gorilla Island was becoming that it felt wrong not to include them.
So they joined the island, and now they’re part of our DNA.
